Notifications
Triggers and templates, so the right person hears about the thing that matters — and nobody hears about everything.
The short version
Software that tells everyone about everything gets muted inside a week, and then the one message that mattered is muted too. This is built the other way round: a small number of things, to the people they actually concern.
What it does
Triggers
on events worth interrupting somebody for — an invoice going overdue, a lead untouched for a week, a quotation about to expire, stock below its reorder point, a document sent or approved.
Templates
you write, in your own words, with the record’s own detail filled in.
A queue and a send log
, so you can see what actually went and to whom.
Digests
, so ten small things arrive as one message rather than ten.
The design decision worth knowing
Notifications are opt-in per trigger and per role, not a global switch. That is deliberate: the moment a system can notify everybody about everything, somebody turns it all on, and a fortnight later the whole team has filtered it to a folder.
How this compares
Reminders in a calendar
They work, for the person who set them. They do not survive that person leaving, and they know nothing about whether the thing they are reminding you about has already been done.
