Reports & analytics
Nine reports that answer a question each, with the rows behind every figure — and arrive by e-mail without being asked for.
The short version
A report is not a list with a grouping applied. It answers one question over one period, shows the headline figures, charts them, and shows the rows behind both — because a total nobody can break down is a total nobody trusts, and an untrusted number is worse than no number because people argue about it instead of acting.
What each one answers
Sales over time
invoiced against collected, month by month.
Sales by customer
who buys most, what they have paid, what is still owed.
What sells
items by value and by quantity.
Receivables ageing
by band, with days overdue per invoice.
It arrives without being asked for
Schedules run a report daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, every six months or yearly, at an hour you choose, as PDF, CSV or both, to any mix of staff and plain e-mail addresses — your accountant included, who needs no login. The period is resolved when it fires, so a monthly report always covers the month that just ended.
How this compares
Exporting to a spreadsheet
Flexible, and the work is redone every time. The version somebody built last quarter is not the version they build this quarter, which is why two people produce two different revenue figures from the same system.
A BI tool on top
Powerful and worth it at a certain size. Below that size it is a second system to maintain, fed by exports that go stale, answering questions nobody asked. These are built in and read the live data.
What it works with
Questions people ask
Can I build my own report?
Who can see which reports?
