Documents, redesigned to work on a phone

The company file store now fits a phone properly: one picker instead of six rows, tags that wrap, a row per file with one ⋯ menu, and columns that appear as the screen widens.

What was wrong

On a phone, Documents was a computer screen shrunk to fit. The file table had seven columns, so the phone laid the whole page out at nearly twice its width and everything came out small. The six places (All files, Recent, Starred and the rest) took a full screen of rows before a single file showed, and every row carried a line of tiny buttons.

What is new

📁

One picker, not six rows

On a phone and a tablet the places sit behind one button at the top, with the storage line beside it and the tags as chips that wrap.

📱

A row per file

Name, size, date and owner on two lines, the tags beneath, and one ⋯ that opens a sheet from the bottom with every action, large enough for a thumb.

📈

Columns as room allows

The list adds Modified and Size when there is room, then Owner and Access on a wide screen, so a name is never squeezed to three letters.

⬆

Upload in one place

New folder, and one Upload button for files, a whole folder or a link from Google Drive or Dropbox. The grid is two cards across on a phone.

Does this affect anything you already have?

No. Every file, folder, tag, share and link is where it was, and everything that could be done before still can. On a computer the rail on the left stays; the row actions now sit behind ⋯ beside Download and Share, and Select in that menu ticks files for tagging or trashing together.

Pricing

Start with what you need. Grow into the rest.

Per user, per month. Every plan carries the whole product’s foundations (custom fields, roles, reports, documents and notifications) and differs only in how many modules are switched on. Change plan whenever you like; nothing is re-entered and nothing is lost.

1 GB storage per workspace (organisation)

Only want this one module?

Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.

What about storage?

A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.

Annual or monthly?

Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
