Importing a spreadsheet with an owner column failed on the first row

Any import that mapped a column onto a person died on the first row with a server error. Nobody puts an internal id in a spreadsheet, so the importer now reads the name or the e-mail address, like the file actually contains.

What was wrong before

Columns that hold a person (Owner, Assigned to and the like) store an internal id. The importer passed whatever the spreadsheet said straight into that column, so a file that named a colleague in the ordinary way failed on its first row.

It failed as a server error, which is the wrong thing to say twice over: the server was fine, and the message told you nothing about which column was at fault or what to do about it.

It reads what a spreadsheet actually contains

A person can now be given by name or by sign-in e-mail, which is what exports from other systems carry. An internal id still works, so a file exported from here and edited re-imports unchanged.

If a name matches two people, that row is refused and asks for the e-mail address instead. Quietly assigning someone’s accounts to the wrong colleague would be far worse than a refusal: the import would report success, the records would be wrong, and nobody would go looking.

A column pointing at another record still has to be imported by id, and now says so plainly rather than failing.

Does this affect anything you already have?

Nothing already imported has changed. This affects imports from here on, and only makes files work that previously would not.

An import that used to fail is worth trying again. It very likely works now.

1 GB storage per workspace (organisation)

Only want this one module?

Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.

What about storage?

A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.

Annual or monthly?

Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
