Every role that ships with JAI CRM can now do its own job
We signed in as each of the roles a business starts with and tried that job's everyday tasks. A sales executive could not convert a lead or log a visit, Accounts could not pick a customer on a new invoice, and every role but Administrator was offered only 0% tax. Each role now does its own job, and businesses already running were brought up to it wherever they had not changed the role themselves.

What changed
Sales executives convert and import leads
A sales executive converts a lead into a customer and imports leads, customers and companies. Export is no longer part of the role, and neither is Delete, so the lead list stays in the business and the trail stays whole.
Visits, orders and proformas
Sales executives log visits, share quotations and proposals, turn a won quotation into a sales order, raise proforma invoices for advances, and see the items, stock and price lists they quote from, plus their own targets and commission.
Accounts can raise an invoice
Accounts opens the customers, vendors and items an invoice or bill is made of. It also raises bills of supply, retainer invoices and debit notes, invoices a sales order or bills a purchase order by converting it, and shares invoices with customers.
Tax rates and print designs for everybody
The tax box on a document line and the Template box at the top asked for Settings permissions, so every role but Administrator was offered 0% and no design. Anybody who raises a document now chooses from the active rates and from the designs for that document.
Salaries are the Administrator's
Payroll and the employee register carry CTC, PAN and bank details. Manager and Read only no longer open them; the Administrator does.
Read only reads the whole business
Read only was set to their own records, and a person who can create nothing owns nothing, so every list was empty. It now reads everything outside Settings, except salaries.
The screen each floor role lacked
Quality has its worklist, Production has the shop floor screen, and Stores reads the sales orders it picks and packs against. Accountant and Bookkeeper read the documents and the Books front page they check against.
Customer and vendor logins stay in the portal
A customer or vendor login now goes straight to its portal and can reach nothing else. Before, it signed in to the staff Business overview with the staff menu, and reached the portal only by typing its address.
Does this change anything you already have?
Your roles were brought up to these defaults only where they were still as they shipped. Anything you had changed on a role is kept as you set it, and each role that changed has an entry in Settings, Audit log. Open any preset and press Put back as it ships to return it to these defaults. Roles you made yourself, and copies, are not touched.

What about storage?
A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.
Annual or monthly?
Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
