A trial that ends, and a lock you can undo yourself
A trial that ran out carried on working, and the Add storage button granted storage to workspaces that had never been invoiced. Both are closed, and closing them without locking anybody out took more care than the locks did.

What was wrong before
When a trial ran out, the nightly job marked the workspace unpaid, sent the email, and changed nothing else. Every trial that ever lapsed kept the whole product, free, indefinitely. The email said the trial had ended; the product disagreed.
Separately, the Add storage button on the Subscription screen handed over the storage there and then, asked for no payment method, and said it would appear on the next invoice, on workspaces that had never been invoiced and, being on trial, were not going to be.
A locked workspace is not a closed one
The quick fix would have been to refuse the sign-in. That is worse than the bug, because the screen where you pay is behind the sign-in: locking the door would also have removed the handle.
So an unpaid workspace still signs in. It opens on the billing screen and goes no further: choose a plan, settle what is owed, or leave a card so it does not happen again. The moment it is paid, everything is back.
Nothing is deleted, at any point. Every record, document and file stays exactly where it is, and the message on screen says so, because the first thing anybody assumes when a workspace will not open is that their work has gone.
What a locked workspace can still do
Sign in, as normal
Same address, same password. You land on billing rather than your dashboard.
See exactly what is owed
The amount, the invoice and the plan it belongs to, not a wall with no number on it.
Switch to another workspace
If you run more than one, the paid ones are untouched and one click away.
Add-ons arrive once the payment has arrived
Pressing Add used to hand the storage over on the spot and say the charge would appear on your next invoice. It now begins a payment, and the storage switches on when that payment goes through, not before. The same is true of a module bought on its own.
That order matters beyond the trial bug that exposed it. Storage granted first and billed three weeks later is storage already used by the time anybody chases the invoice.
It also means an invoice here now always describes money that has actually arrived. It is raised at the moment the payment lands rather than in advance, so the invoice list is a record of what you paid, not a list of what somebody hopes you will.
Who can buy an add-on
A live, paid plan
Quoted at the current price and the seats you have now, then paid for, then switched on.
Not during a trial
The trial covers the plan itself, not add-ons on top of it. Start the plan and either can be added.
Not while money is owed
You keep everything you already bought. You simply cannot take on more until the last lot is settled.
Nothing is taken away from a workspace that falls behind. Every file and every gigabyte already paid for stays exactly where it is. Holding your own documents hostage over a late card is not a collections policy.
And both screens now say why an add-on is unavailable, in place of a button whose only possible answer was an error.
Two more things found while checking it
The Pay button on an invoice offered “manual” as a payment method. Manual is not a payment method (it means a bank transfer someone reconciles by hand), so choosing it failed, on the one screen whose entire job is to take a payment. It is no longer offered, and the screen explains the transfer route instead.
The Subscription screen also told workspaces with a live, paid subscription that they were on trial. It was reading the trial date, which nothing clears when you subscribe, rather than whether you are actually on trial. It asks the right question now.
Does this affect anything you already have?
If your subscription is live, nothing changes for you at all. No screen, no button and no limit behaves differently.
If a trial is close to running out, it will now genuinely end on the day it says it will, rather than quietly continuing, which is what happened before. Choosing a plan before that day means you will not notice this change either.
No workspace was locked by this release. Everything already running was checked first.

5 GB storage per workspace (organisation)
Only want this one module?
Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.
What about storage?
A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.
Annual or monthly?
Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
