Every list showed the wrong account owner

Two opposite symptoms, one cause: the lists were reading who owns a record from somewhere other than the record. Nothing was ever assigned to the wrong person, but for a long time no list could tell you who it was assigned to.

What was wrong before

A customer, lead, deal or task created in the app showed Unassigned in every list, however plainly it had an owner on its own record page.

A record that arrived with your sample data did the opposite: it kept naming whoever it started with. You could change the account owner, see the change save, reopen the list, and read the old name. Changing it again changed nothing. It was not a screen that needed refreshing; it would have named the wrong person for good.

The cause is the same in both cases. Who owns a record is a field on the record, and it is what a save writes and what permissions read. The lists were reading a separate table of people attached to a record, one that nothing in the product has ever written an owner into.

The record is now the only thing consulted

The owner is read from the record itself, everywhere it is shown: the lists, the boards, the record page, the Also assigned column, and the {{owner}} placeholder in an e-mail template.

Because it was fixed in the one place all of those go through, it is right across customers, leads, deals, tasks, companies, visits, projects, vendors, every sales document and any module you have built yourself.

Two server errors found while checking it

Creating a vendor without typing a code of your own failed with a server error. So did recording a payment: one made to a vendor, or one received from a customer. Each of the three asks “is this number already used?”, and that question was being put to the wrong table.

These were not rare edge cases: leaving the code blank is the ordinary way to create a vendor, and there is only one way to record a payment.

Does this affect anything you already have?

No record changed hands, and nothing was reassigned. What changed is what you are shown. The owner stored against each record was correct all along.

So expect names to appear where lists used to say Unassigned, and expect a record you reassigned in the past to now show the person you moved it to rather than the person it came from. That is the correction arriving, not a second change.

Who can see what has not changed. Permissions and filters always read the record’s own owner, so access, sharing and “my records” were never affected by this. Only the name on the screen was.

1 GB storage per workspace (organisation)

Only want this one module?

Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.

What about storage?

A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.

Annual or monthly?

Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
