One bank balance everywhere, a profit and loss read from the ledger, and fixed assets that book their cost

The accountant's check went through the ledger, banking, reports, fixed assets and budgets. The dashboard and Bank accounts could show two balances for one bank, the profit and loss left out depreciation and journals, and an asset sold that was never bought took its cost out of the books. Each is now put right.

What changed

🏦

One bank balance everywhere

The dashboard’s bank table, low balance alerts and messages that quote a balance now read the same figure as Bank accounts, journals included. A USD expense paid from a rupee account takes its rupees off the account, and a refund on a foreign note goes out at its rate.

📈

The profit and loss is the ledger's

The profit and loss in Books now reads the ledger, so depreciation, journals and bank charges are in it. Before, a month could show a profit where the ledger showed a loss. Cash flow counts payments that completed, TDS deposited and journals on a bank, and no longer counts a cheque still pending.

📅

Every entry on its own day

Anything recorded between midnight and 5:30 in the morning fell on the day before in the trial balance, so a month already closed could still change. Each entry is now on the day it was made.

🔒

Opening balances and the year end

An opening balance counts from its own date, and changing one inside a locked period is refused: it moved a closed balance sheet by ₹1,450. An account carrying one cannot be deleted. Income and expenses start each financial year at nil, with earlier profit carried into Retained earnings.

🏭

Fixed assets book their cost

A new asset asks how it was paid for: already owned when the books began, paid from a bank account, or on a purchase bill already entered. Before, adding one booked nothing and selling it took ₹1,20,000 out of Fixed assets. A sale goes into the bank account you choose, never the Bank accounts group, and is not dated before the last depreciation charge. On a phone, Dispose is in the asset’s own box.

📝

Manual journals name the customer or vendor

A line on Receivables names its customer and a line on Payables its vendor, so their ageing agrees with the ledger; it read ₹1,180 against ₹1,000. A journal goes to a bank account, not the group, is written in rupees, and the Banking lock holds when it moves a bank.

↩

Undone where they were made

A transfer, a charge recorded from a bank statement and a depreciation charge are taken back on their own screens, not reversed from Manual journals. A transfer reversed there and then deleted as well left both banks ₹10,000 wrong the other way.

💳

Bank statements

Unmatching or setting aside a charge you recorded from the statement takes its entry back out, and so does deleting the file, so recording it again books it once, not twice. A line matched to something later deleted is unmatched when the statement opens. The first transfer from a new bank no longer fails.

📊

Budgets and the chart of accounts

A budget on a group account counts its sub-accounts. The totals show income, expenses and the profit they leave, instead of adding income and expenses together. A sub-account keeps its parent’s type, a deleted account’s code can be used again, and Accountant lists each section once.

Does this change anything you already have?

Nothing you entered is changed. Entries the books made themselves between midnight and 5:30 in the morning move to their own day the next time the ledger is brought up to date. An opening balance with no date counts from the start of the books. Some figures read differently from today: the dashboard’s bank table now agrees with Bank accounts, the profit and loss includes depreciation, journals and bank charges, and a trial balance after 31 March shows the new year’s income and expenses, with earlier profit in Retained earnings. Journals already posted to Receivables or Payables without a customer or vendor stay as they are.

Only want this one module?

Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.

What about storage?

A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.

Annual or monthly?

Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
