Write a Word document together in JAI CRM, and see who is typing where
The Document app now opens a Word file and edits it inside JAI CRM. Several people can type in it at the same time and see each other's cursors with their names. It is saved into Documents as a real Word file a few seconds after you stop, one version for each sitting, and Save a version names one.

What you can do now
Type together
Open the same document as a colleague and both type at once. Each of you sees the other’s words arrive as they are typed, and nothing either of you writes is lost.
See who is where
Each person’s cursor carries their name in their own colour, and everybody in the file shows at the top.
A ribbon like Word's
Home, Insert, Layout and View: fonts, sizes, colours, highlight, lists, alignment, line spacing, styles, tables, pictures, links, page breaks, header, footer, and find and replace.
A4 pages as they will print
The pages break where Word’s will, with the header and footer on every page. A file opens with the sidebar collapsed to give them room; open it whenever you like and the pages and ribbon fit beside it, and it comes back as you had it when you close the file.
Kept as a real Word file
Saved into Documents as a .docx a few seconds after you stop typing. Download gives you that Word file, formatting and all.
A version per sitting
Each sitting of editing is one version, so the history reads like one. Name a version with Save a version, or bring an old one back.
View only stays view only
Somebody who may only view the file sees the changes arrive and cannot type, whatever their browser sends.
On a phone
The pages as one long sheet, with heading, bold, italic, lists, a table, a picture, undo and redo above the keyboard.
Does this change anything you already have?
Word files you already have in Documents open in the editor from Apps, or with Open in Document from their menu. Opening a file changes nothing until somebody types; each save then adds a version and the earlier ones stay. Spreadsheet and Presentation files still download and upload as before until their editors arrive. Somebody with Documents but no folder they may write to now keeps a new file in their own files, where before they could not make one. This is the first Document editor: the full Word-style editor, with every tab Word has (references, mailings, review and the rest), takes its place next, with the same live editing. Apps is in early access, switched on for a business by the JAI CRM team.

What about storage?
A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.
Annual or monthly?
Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
