A frozen column that actually stays in front

Pinning is a promise that the column stays put while the rest slides under it. It was breaking that promise twice.

What was wrong

Pin a column, scroll sideways, and the pinned column vanished behind the columns arriving from the right. That is the one thing pinning exists to prevent. Underneath, every header sat at the same depth whether it was pinned or not, and where two things sit at the same depth the one later in the page wins. That was always going to be the column coming towards you.

The second one showed up the moment rows started carrying colour: the pinned cell was painted a hard white, so a row tinted for being overdue had a white gap punched through it where the frozen column was. A selected row and a hovered row did the same.

What changed

▤

Four depths, in the right order

An ordinary cell slides under everything. A frozen cell sits above the cells and below the header. An ordinary header holds while you scroll down. A frozen header holds in both directions at once.

◧

The frozen column takes the row’s colour

It inherits the row rather than painting itself white, so a tinted, hovered or selected row keeps its colour across the whole width.

⇥

And the edge is visible

A shadow down the frozen edge, which also says without a caption that the rest of the table is passing behind it.

Does this affect anything existing?

Every list that offers Columns is fixed by the same change: leads, customers, deals, tasks, projects, project tasks, documents, vendors, inventory and the rest. Nothing about your saved arrangements changes: the same columns stay pinned, in the same order and at the same widths.

1 GB storage per workspace (organisation)

Only want this one module?

Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.

What about storage?

A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.

Annual or monthly?

Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
