Only administrators could raise a quotation from a record
The dialog opened with no fields in it, so nothing could be filled in and nothing said why. It affected every quick-create in the app, not just documents.

An empty dialog, and no explanation
Open a lead or a customer, choose More, and pick Create quotation (or Create sales order, proforma invoice, invoice or credit note). For anybody who was not an administrator, the dialog opened with no fields in it at all. Nothing to fill in, nothing to save, and no message saying what had gone wrong.
Raising a document from the record you are already looking at is close to the most ordinary thing there is to do in a CRM, and the people who do it most (salespeople) were exactly the people it did not work for.
What was actually wrong
The dialog asks the server which fields to draw. That read required permission to administer custom fields, which only administrators have, so for everyone else it was refused, the field list came back empty, and the dialog rendered nothing.
Reading which fields a module has is what a form needs in order to draw itself. Changing them is administration. Those were one permission and are now two: reading is open to anyone who may view or create that module’s records, and administering fields still requires settings access.
Nothing new is exposed by this. Every list in the product already returned the same field definitions alongside its rows, to exactly those people. The dialog was simply asking somewhere else.
It was wider than documents
The same read sits behind every quick-create in the product: raising a deal from a company, a task from a customer, a lead from anywhere. All of them opened equally empty for non-administrators, for the same reason. All of them work now.
Does this affect anything existing?
No. Nothing changed in your data, no permission was widened beyond reading field definitions, and administering fields is exactly as restricted as it was. Documents you raised before today are untouched.
One thing worth knowing if it had confused you: a quotation raised from a lead is allowed to have no customer on it yet. That is deliberate: it is the quotation you send before the lead converts, and it keeps its link to the lead so it appears on that record.

5 GB storage per workspace (organisation)
Only want this one module?
Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.
What about storage?
A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.
Annual or monthly?
Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
