Business cards scanned at events are now read by AI

Cards scanned at events are read by an AI model when one is available: your own key if you set one for cards, otherwise the AI included with your workspace. It copes far better with coloured, glossy and two-language cards and reads both sides. With no model, cards are read on our own server as before. A switch in Settings turns it off.

What changed

The built-in reader handles a plain white card well and struggles with dark backgrounds, gold foil, logos printed over text and cards in two languages, which are most of the cards at an Indian exhibition.

How a card is read now

🔑

Your own key first

If you added your own AI key and chose a model for Reading business cards, your cards are read with it and your provider bills you.

🤖

Then the AI included

Otherwise the AI included with your workspace reads them, when it is offered to your business.

🛡

Then our own reader

With no model, or when one fails or is slow, the built-in reader on our server reads the card as before. No card is left unread.

📄

Both sides

When the back is photographed, both sides are read together, so the address on the back is not lost.

⚙

A model just for cards

Cards can use a different model from your email suggestions: a fast, low-cost one for cards and a careful one for replies.

🔒

Your choice

Settings, AI writing, Reading business cards: switch it off and card photographs never leave our server.

Does this affect anything you already have?

No. Every card still waits in Review for a person to confirm it, and anything the reader was unsure of is still underlined. Cards already filed are not read again.

1 GB storage per workspace (organisation)

Only want this one module?

Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.

What about storage?

A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.

Annual or monthly?

Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
