A document with two GST rates printed a tax line whose rate did not produce its own figure

If an invoice carried items at two different GST rates, the totals block showed a single tax line, with one rate against the total of both. The arithmetic never matched, and it printed that way. It is now one line per slab.

What was wrong

Take an invoice with two lines: ₹1,30,000 at 18% and ₹1,20,000 at 12%. The tax is ₹23,400 and ₹14,400 (₹37,800 altogether), and the Tax summary further down the document always showed that correctly, rate by rate.

The totals block did not. It printed one line reading IGST 18.00% ₹37,800.00. The amount was right; the rate was the first one it happened to meet. And 18% of anything on that document is not ₹37,800.

Anybody checking the arithmetic (a customer, an accountant, an officer) got a different answer from the one on the paper. It affected the screen and the PDF equally, because both read the same figures.

What changed

✓

One line per slab

A document with 12% and 18% now shows both, each against its own taxable amount. They still add to the document’s tax.

◉

Combined GST too

Businesses printing a single “GST” line instead of CGST and SGST had the same fault one level up: two slabs became one line reading GST 30%. It is now one GST line per slab.

⚑

Nothing else moved

Subtotal, total, tax total and the tax summary were always right and are unchanged. Only the label and grouping of the totals line were wrong.

Does this affect anything you already have?

No figure you rely on has changed. The tax charged, the invoice total, the amount due and your GST returns were all correct before and are correct now. The fault was in how one line was labelled and grouped, not in any calculation.

But a document reprinted now may look different from the copy you sent. An invoice with more than one GST rate will show two tax lines where it previously showed one. The total is identical. If somebody reconciling at month end notices, that is why.

Documents raised from now on are built correctly. An older one shows the corrected layout the next time its figures are recalculated.

And the email templates that sent braces to customers

Shipped in the same update, and worth knowing about because it went out under your name.

Every account is given four ready-made email templates: the overdue reminder, the invoice covering note, the payment thank-you and the quotation follow-up. All four were written with placeholders the compose box did not fill in, so a customer who was sent one read, literally: Invoice {{number}} for {{amount}} was due on {{dueDate}}.

Those placeholders now fill in properly, along with your business name. The Insert button offers all eight, and the sales documents can now be picked as modules a template belongs to. Every shipped template was tagged to one and none of them had a checkbox.

Nothing you wrote yourself was touched. If you edited one of the four, your wording stays exactly as it is and the placeholders in it now work.

1 GB storage per workspace (organisation)

Only want this one module?

Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.

What about storage?

A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.

Annual or monthly?

Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
