Three settings the product asked for and gave you nowhere to answer
Three things the product needed to know, took correctly when told, and gave you no way to tell it. One of them quietly made every multi-branch business behave like a single-branch one.

Found by trying to write the manual
We are writing the documentation for roles, permissions and who sees what. A page has to name the screen you use, and three times over there was no screen: the product took the setting perfectly well when something told it, and nothing in front of you ever could.
None of the three failed. Each behaved exactly as written for the case where the answer happened to be the default, which is why none was ever reported.
Which branch a warehouse belongs to
Restricting somebody to their own location is answered through branches. An invoice carries a branch, not a warehouse, so somebody restricted to the Bhiwandi warehouse is shown documents by way of whatever branch Bhiwandi belongs to.
The warehouse form asked for a code, a name and an address, and never for the branch. A warehouse added after the business was first set up had none, and restricting anybody to it showed them no documents at all. There is a Branch field on the warehouse now, and it says what leaving it blank costs.
Which branch a person belongs to
A different question, and easy to confuse with the one above: not which branches somebody may see, but which one they are of. It decides where a document they raise is filed, and which numbering series that document takes.
It was never on the Users screen either. Across every live business the answer was blank on every single person, so every document fell back to the default branch and the default series. For one branch that is right. For seven branches it means one series doing the work of seven, and no screen that could say otherwise.
It is on the Users form now, called “Belongs to”, and sits apart from the places somebody may see so the two are not mistaken for each other. Putting somebody in a branch is held to the same limit as showing them one: a manager confined to Mumbai cannot file a colleague under Delhi.
A sharing rule that matches on conditions
Data sharing offers two kinds of rule: share what a group of people own, or share the records that match a condition. Choosing the second showed a paragraph explaining that conditions are set on the module’s own list: save the rule, then open it from there.
There was no there. And the save was refused without a condition, so the rule could not be saved in order to be opened. The option could not be completed by any route in the product, and had quietly been that way since it shipped.
The part that does the work was finished all along: a saved condition is turned into a real query every time anybody reads the module. Only the place to type it in was missing. The rule dialog now has the same condition builder used everywhere else in the product.
What to do about it
Check your warehouses
Inventory › Warehouses. Any added since setup will have no branch. Set it, or a restricted colleague sees no documents.
Check your people
Settings › Users › Belongs to. Blank means the default branch, which is only right if you have one.
Numbering follows
A person’s branch decides their documents’ series. Correct the branch before the next invoice, not after.
Conditions work now
Settings › Data sharing. Pick “Records matching a condition” and build it in the dialog.
Does this affect anything you already have?
Nothing changes on its own, and nothing is rewritten. Documents already raised keep the branch and the number they were given. Setting somebody’s branch today affects what they raise from today, and does not reach backwards.
It is worth an hour: set the branch on each warehouse and on each person, and the place restriction and the numbering series will both do what the settings screen has been implying they did. If you run one branch, none of this changes anything for you, which is exactly why it went unnoticed for so long.

5 GB storage per workspace (organisation)
Only want this one module?
Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.
What about storage?
A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.
Annual or monthly?
Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
