Columns you can actually move, and taxes you pick rather than type

The columns were sortable in principle and immovable in practice: everything was in place except the part that joins in.

Dragging a column somewhere else

The headings on a document’s item table sat inside the machinery that sorts them and never registered as one of its items, so there was nothing to take hold of, no grip to take hold of it by, and the drop never fired. The sensor, the reorder and the saving were all there, waiting on a component that never joined in.

Each heading is a sortable item now, with a grip that appears when you hover it. Only the grip starts a drag: dragging from anywhere on the heading would mean a mis-aimed resize moves the column instead. The arrangement is remembered, as the widths already were.

The empty box between HSN and Qty

Two things were sitting in that gap. The first was the unit (what the quantity counts, in Nos, Kg, Hours or Sq ft), sharing the Qty column with no heading of its own. It is a column now, called Unit.

The second was furniture. The row’s own grip and its bin were listed as columns as well as being drawn by the table itself, so each existed twice: a real cell at its end, and an empty thirty-two-pixel column that landed wherever the saved order happened to put it. They are the table’s own furniture and not columns anybody arranges, so they are out of the list.

And double-clicking a column’s edge said it would put the width back, then reset it to the width it already had, which is nothing at all. It goes back to the width the column shipped with.

A second tax on a line

It was a blank name box and a number box. Somebody retyped a rate that was already defined in Settings → Taxes, “Cess” went in on one line and “cess” on the next, and a line could carry 4.5% of something no report would ever group.

Further taxes come from the same list the main rate does, and appear as chips the way tags do: one click to add, one to take off. A tax already on the line is not offered again, and neither is the one the line already carries as its main rate.

What is stored is still the name and the rate as they stood rather than a pointer to the rate. An invoice has to go on saying what was actually charged after somebody edits that rate in settings next year.

Does this affect anything existing?

Documents already saved keep the taxes they carry, whatever they were called. A saved column arrangement that named the two pieces of furniture quietly drops them and keeps the rest.

1 GB storage per workspace (organisation)

Only want this one module?

Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.

What about storage?

A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.

Annual or monthly?

Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
