Debit notes to customers, for an invoice that charged too little
A rate revised upward, freight left off, a short count: when a sent invoice charged too little, the only way was a second invoice. Now a debit note is raised from the invoice itself, owed and paid like one, and declared as a debit note in your returns, on the phone as on the desktop.

What changed
Raised from the invoice
On a sent invoice or bill of supply, choose Create debit note. It opens a draft for the same customer, place of supply and currency, with the invoice’s lines at nothing. Type what was undercharged and why, then send it.
Owed and paid like an invoice
Once sent it has its own balance, due on the invoice’s own terms from its date. Record a payment against it as you would an invoice; it turns overdue when unpaid, and shows in what you are owed, the customer’s statement, the portal and online payment.
Declared as a debit note
GSTR-1 lists it with credit and debit notes, as note type D against its invoice: CDNR for a registered customer, CDNUR for a large B2C sale or an export. One against a small B2C sale is netted into B2C small. 3B adds its tax in its own month.
In the books and in Tally
It posts like the sale it adds to: the customer owes more, against sales and output GST. Tally receives it as a Debit Note voucher.
Its own numbers and its own permission
Debit notes to customers number in their own series, SDN, so the count of documents issued has no gaps. Roles have a new Debit notes line under Sales, starting as each role had for invoices, which you can change.
Checked before it goes
A debit note is not sent while it adds nothing, dated before its invoice, or against an invoice that is a draft or withdrawn. Once sent it is final like an invoice, and a month whose GSTR-1 is marked filed refuses it.
Does this change anything you already have?
Nothing you already have changes. Debit notes to suppliers stay under Purchases with their own numbers. An invoice that charged too little before today stays as you put it right, a second invoice say. Commission, targets and channel partner figures do not count debit notes to customers yet.

Only want this one module?
Individual modules are sold on their own alongside the plans. See every module’s price.
What about storage?
A single module includes 1 GB of storage per workspace (organisation) and Full Suite includes 5 GB per workspace (organisation): documents, attachments, file versions and photographs, counted together for everyone in it, not per user. Add more at any time in tiers, or move to Full Suite and take the larger allowance with it. Nothing is deleted if you run close; uploads are refused with a reason, and what you already have stays exactly where it is.
Annual or monthly?
Both. Annual works out cheaper per month and is charged once at the start; monthly costs a little more and can be stopped at the end of any cycle. The card shows the per-user-per-month figure on both, so the two are comparable at a glance rather than by arithmetic.
