Turn on Check first emails for sales pitches in Settings › My email. From then on, a first email from somebody you have never written to is read by AI. A sales pitch to your business (marketing, websites, software, loans, guest posts) moves to Cold email. Anything else, an enquiry about what you sell included, stays in New people. When it is unsure, it stays.
Not a pitch on a moved email sends it and every other email of theirs back to New people, and they are never checked again.
Each email checked is one AI use. Mail from somebody on your records, and replies in your conversations, are never checked.
