A voice note recorded with a card is written out and the words are added to the lead, customer or supplier as a comment. The recording itself stays on the record as an attachment that plays where it is.
Which model writes it out
- Your own key, when you added one in Settings › AI writing › Your own AI account and chose a model for Writing out voice notes.
- The AI included with your workspace, when it is offered to your business.
- The transcriber on our own server, otherwise, or when the model fails. It is slower and less sure of names and of Hindi and English mixed.
Only models that listen to audio can be chosen: OpenAI’s transcription models (gpt-transcribe, gpt-4o-mini-transcribe, gpt-4o-transcribe, whisper-1) or Google Gemini. Claude does not take audio, so it is not offered for voice notes.
What it costs
OpenAI prices transcription by the minute of audio: gpt-transcribe at $0.0045 a minute, gpt-4o-mini-transcribe at $0.003, gpt-4o-transcribe and whisper-1 at $0.006 (their pricing page, 7 October 2026). A thirty-second note on gpt-transcribe is about ₹0.22 at ₹96 to the dollar. Gemini is priced by the tokens it reports. The settings page shows the cost of the model you choose.
Switching it off
Settings › AI writing › Writing out voice notes has one switch, Write out voice notes with AI, on unless you turn it off. Off, no recording leaves our server. The platform can also allow or refuse it for each business, separately from card reading, replies and writing.
The comment
It reads, for example, Voice note at Pune Pharma Expo: the words, under the name of whoever recorded the note, and is added once. A note written out after the card was filed is added to the record then.
