A partner’s page: what they brought in

Referred, became customers, deals, won, quoted, invoiced and collected: what each figure counts and over which period.

Open a partner and choose What they brought in. It adds up every record credited to them over the period you choose: the last 3, 6, 12 or 24 months, to the end of today.

Ar. Neha Kapoor's page on the What they brought in tab, 12 months: Referred 4, Became customers 1 (25%), Deals 1, Won 0; Quoted Rs 3,77,600, Won value Rs 0, Invoiced Rs 3,77,600, Collected Rs 2,00,000, Collected before GST Rs 1,69,491.53.
Twelve months of one architect: four referrals, one customer so far, and Rs 2,00,000 collected against a Rs 3,77,600 invoice.

What each figure counts

FigureCounts
ReferredLeads referred by them in the period, plus customers referred directly without a lead.
Became customersCustomers credited to them whose referral falls in the period, with the share of referrals that became customers.
DealsDeals credited to them, made in the period.
WonOf those deals, the ones won, and the share of referrals that ended in a won deal.
QuotedQuotations credited to them and dated in the period, leaving out drafts and cancelled or void ones.
Won valueWhat their won deals were won at.
InvoicedInvoices and bills of supply credited to them, issued in the period: not drafts, cancelled or void.
CollectedWhat has been paid against those invoices.
Collected before GSTCollected less its share of the GST and cess on each invoice: usually what commission is worked on.

Amounts are in your business’s own currency. An invoice in dollars counts at its exchange rate. Under the figures, the page says when they last referred anybody, and how long their customers count for.

Reading it

  • Many referrals and few customers: the partner sends enquiries that do not suit you, or your follow-up is slow.
  • High invoiced and low collected: their customers are slow to pay, which matters if commission is paid on money collected.
  • Compare the same period across partners in the report rather than one page at a time. See Reports: what each partner brought in.

Use cases

  • Before a meeting with an architect, open her page for the last 12 months: you can tell her how many of her clients bought and what they spent.
  • At the month end, look at Collected before GST for the last 3 months to check what commission is due, until Targets and Commission works it out for you.

The period counts back from today: 3 months on 14 October covers 14 July to the end of 14 October. For calendar months or quarters, use the report, which has those periods.
