Partners who have gone quiet

An active partner who has referred nobody for 90 days is marked, so somebody calls before the relationship cools.

A partner who stops referring has usually found somebody else to recommend. The sooner you notice, the easier it is to win back. JAI CRM marks an active partner who has referred nobody for 90 days as Quiet.

Where you see it

  • In the report What each channel partner brought in: the Quiet for 90 days total at the top, and Quiet in the partner’s row.
  • On the partner’s page, under the figures: the date of their last referral.

What counts as a referral here

The last time anybody was recorded as referred by them, on a lead or a customer, ever. It is not limited to the report’s period: a partner who referred somebody 80 days ago is not quiet, even if the report is for last month.

What to do about it

  1. Open the report, filter or sort on Quiet, and note who looks after each quiet partner.
  2. Ask that colleague to call, and log the call on the partner’s Activity tab.
  3. If the relationship has ended, edit the partner and untick Active. They stop being marked, and what they brought in stays credited to them.

A partner never referred at all counts as quiet once they are in the list: an architect you signed up and never heard from is exactly the one to call.

Use cases

  • A weekly habit: the person who looks after architects opens the report on Monday and calls whoever is marked quiet.
  • After a price rise: watch whether partners go quiet in the following quarter.

Ninety days is fixed. For a partner who refers once a year, Quiet is expected; leave them active and ignore the mark, or untick Active if you no longer expect anything from them.

Why ninety days

Three months is long enough that an architect between projects is not flagged every few weeks, and short enough to call while the relationship can still be mended. Partners who referred a customer directly, without a lead, count as having referred that day too.

Partners who are never marked

  • A partner whose Active box is unticked.
  • A partner who referred somebody in the last 90 days, on a lead or a customer.

What does not reset it

Only a referral does. Logging a call, a meeting or a comment on the partner’s page is a good record of the relationship, but the partner stays marked until somebody they send is recorded as referred by them.
