An opportunity with a value and a stage. Routing matters when different people close different kinds of business.
What you would route on
Any field on the module can be used, including ones you have added yourself. These are the ones businesses reach for:
| Field | Why you would route on it |
|---|---|
| Value | The classic split — large deals to seniors. |
| Stage | Hand over at a particular stage. |
| Source | Where the opportunity came from. |
| Probability | Concentrate effort on the likely ones. |
A worked example
A machinery dealer sends deals over ₹10 lakh to the two directors and everything below to the sales team in turn. The rule is one entry with a condition on Value above the catch-all.
Caps and overflow
| Setting | Worth it here? |
|---|---|
| A cap per person | Occasionally. If somebody can only genuinely work six live deals, a weekly cap stops a seventh being added. |
| An overflow owner | Occasionally. |
Nothing stops you setting either — they are offered on every module. It is simply that a daily limit answers a question this module rarely asks.
