A check before stock is accepted. Routing decides which inspector it lands on.
An inspection also has its own Inspector field, which comes from the staff list rather than from logins. The owner set by a rule is who is answerable; the inspector is who signed.
What you would route on
Any field on the module can be used, including ones you have added yourself. These are the ones businesses reach for:
| Field | Why you would route on it |
|---|---|
| Transaction type | Incoming goods to one inspector, finished production to another. |
| Item | Where inspection needs product knowledge. |
| Warehouse | Site inspectors. |
A worked example
A food processor routes incoming-material inspections to the QC chemist and finished-goods inspections to the line QC, because they are different checks needing different people.
Caps and overflow
| Setting | Worth it here? |
|---|---|
| A cap per person | Yes — an inspector can do a finite number properly in a day. |
| An overflow owner | Yes. |
Where to go next
- Writing the rule
- When it runs — on create, on edit, or both
- Capping how much each person gets
- Where the overflow goes
