Who looks after a product — its pricing, its stock levels, its supplier. Useful in a business with a real catalogue, where nobody can know every line.
What you would route on
Any field on the module can be used, including ones you have added yourself. These are the ones businesses reach for:
| Field | Why you would route on it |
|---|---|
| Category | The commonest split — a product manager per range. |
| Brand | Where you distribute several. |
| Reorder level | Fast movers to whoever watches stock daily. |
A worked example
A distributor with 2,000 SKUs gives each category to a product manager. When a new item is added by anybody, it lands with the person who will be asked about its price.
Caps and overflow
| Setting | Worth it here? |
|---|---|
| A cap per person | Rarely. Items are catalogue records, not a daily workload. |
| An overflow owner | Rarely. |
Nothing stops you setting either — they are offered on every module. It is simply that a daily limit answers a question this module rarely asks.
