The waiting list

Every deal due to open, when, and for whom; and Open now and Don't open for whoever manages the rules.

Under the rules on the Cross-sell page is Waiting to open: every deal a rule has noted and not yet opened, soonest first. It is the day-to-day part of cross-sell, where a manager sees what is coming and can act on any of it.

The Waiting to open list with two deals: Kapoor Apartments, Tower B from Kapoor Apartments: flat 1204 tiles, Rohan Mehta, and Verma Villa from Verma Villa: bathroom tiles, Arjun Nair, both opening Fri 16 Oct into Modular kitchen, the Kitchen circle, in turn, each with Open now and Don't open.
Two kitchen deals waiting to open on Friday, with the buttons to open one now or stop it.

What each row shows

  • The customer.
  • The first deal, as a link, and the salesperson who owns it.
  • The day it opens, or Within minutes when it is about to.
  • The pipeline it opens in, and who it goes to.
  • A line in amber if the last try failed, saying why and that it will try again in an hour.

Open now

Opens the deal straight away instead of waiting for its day. Every safeguard is still checked: if one stops it, you are told why and nothing opens. If it opens, you are told the new deal’s name and who it went to, and the row leaves the list.

Don't open

Takes it off the list for good. The first deal’s History and its Cross-sell card say it was stopped, and by whom, for example Not opened: Stopped by Govind Dadhich. To change your mind, open the deal by hand.

Both buttons need the Manage permission on Cross-sell rules. Everybody else who may see the rules sees the list without them. The same two buttons are on the first deal’s own Cross-sell card, for a manager looking at that deal.

When things change the list

  • Switching a rule off removes its waiting deals from the list; they will not open. Switching it back on treats those deals as already there. See Deals already there when a rule is saved.
  • Deleting a rule stops everything it had waiting.
  • A date rule’s deal moves to a new day if the date on the deal moves.

The list shows up to 200 waiting deals, soonest first. A business with more than that has a rule waiting longer than it needs to.

The figures on each rule

Each rule’s card shows, for the last 30 days, how many deals it opened, how many of those are now won, and their won value. They are counted the same way as the cross-sell report, by the day each deal opened. A rule that opens deals nobody wins is a rule to look at again: the wrong moment, the wrong team, or the wrong customers.
