The point of cross-sell is that the kitchen is sold by the kitchen people. Step 4 decides who that is for each new deal. Whoever is chosen here gets it, not the first salesperson, unless they happen to be the one chosen.
Your assignment rules for Deals
The rules in Settings, Assignment, Deals decide, exactly as they do for a deal made by hand. They see the new deal with its pipeline already set, so an assignment rule that tests the pipeline can send Modular kitchen deals to one team and Wardrobes deals to another, with each person’s daily limit and your default owner for overflow. The deal’s assignment log records which rule placed it.
A circle, in turn
Choose a circle from Settings, Circles. Each new deal goes to the next person in it, so a circle of Priya and Sameer gives the first kitchen deal to Priya, the second to Sameer, and the third to Priya again. Only people whose sign-in is active are counted, so somebody who has left is skipped. The turn is kept on the rule, so it carries on correctly from one day to the next.
One person
Every deal from this rule goes to the person you choose, such as the head of the lighting team. If they have since left, the rule falls back to your Deal assignment rules.
When nobody is found
If the circle is empty, the person has left and the assignment rules find nobody, the deal goes to whoever wrote the cross-sell rule, so it is never left with no owner and nobody told. The deal’s history says how the owner was chosen, for example Given to Priya Sharma: the Kitchen circle, in turn.
Leave is not taken into account yet: a person on leave in a circle still gets their turn. Leave records are planned with the Calendar.
Checking who will get it
Before anything opens, the rule’s card on the Cross-sell page ends with who gets its deals, such as the Kitchen circle, in turn or your Deal assignment rules, and each row on the waiting list says the same. After a deal opens, its History says who it went to and why, and the first deal’s Cross-sell card shows the new owner by name.
To move a deal to somebody else after it opened, change its owner on its page as for any deal. The rule does not move it back.
