A deal handed over in silence is a deal that waits. Step 8 of a rule settles who hears about it.
The new owner
The new owner is always told. With Cross-sell on, the Notifications library has a notice called Deal assigned to you. Install it from Notifications, Templates, Library. Once it is installed:
- it goes in the app and by email, as each person has chosen in their notification settings;
- it is sent whenever a deal is given to somebody, not only by cross-sell: a new deal with an owner, one placed by your assignment rules, or one given to somebody else from its own page;
- you can change its wording like any other template.
Until it is installed, a deal a rule opens still puts a notice in the new owner’s bell, Deal assigned to you, with the deal’s name and a note that the handover is in its Charcha conversation, so nobody is handed a deal without a word. They are never told twice.
If the rule gives a first task, the new owner is also told about the task as for any task given to them.
The first salesperson
With the second tick on, the salesperson who owns the first deal is told twice, in the bell:
- when the new deal opens, with its name and who it went to;
- when it is won, with the value it was won at, or lost, with the reason, or deleted.
Each notice links to their own deal, whose Cross-sell card shows the new one, because their role may not let them open the new deal itself. If the first salesperson and the new owner are the same person, they get only the new owner’s notice.
The customer is not written to by cross-sell. The new owner gets in touch, with the handover in front of them.
Choosing how to be told
The library notice follows each person’s own notification settings, so somebody who wants it only in the app can switch the email off for themselves. The bell notice a rule leaves when the library notice is not installed always arrives, as do the first salesperson’s two notices, which are in the bell only.
If the new deal is later given to somebody else, the first salesperson is still told when it is won or lost.
